Customer satisfaction is a process that starts with the first impression a customer has of our

business and involves every employee. Many "CSI programs" are reactive and merely attack the

symptoms or they just chase "the number." To be truly successful, a CSI plan must be part of

the dealership/manufacturer culture and be worn like a second skin. Each employee must not

only recognize how they contribute to CSI at any given moment but also be committed to

The prices are probably on balance a little higher than with the employee discount, but they're still very, very competitive.

There was payback from the employee-discount programs at the U.S. Big Three, and a little bit of truck punishment.

I think it shows demand is better than expected. If they can get a premium elsewhere, why would they offer the employee discount?

My biggest disappointment was, of course, the coup attempts, ... The economy was proceeding very well, but in 1989 we had the most serious coup attempt and ... many of the investors who were set to come here had to tell me that they chose to go to other countries because of the uncertainty brought about by (the coup attempt.) If that had not happened, I'm sure our economy would just be booming today ...

When the employee discount plans are removed there will be a lull. Things tend to even out. September might be an interesting month to look at.

The success of GM's employee discount sale is a great example that consumers still are in a mood to buy. However, I think Christmas spending could be a little narrower than last year.

Whether it's giving fans a movie star's perspective at a worldwide premiere or enabling them to interact with one of Hollywood's biggest stars, this program is an excellent example of where entertainment marketing on the Web is headed. We have created with Paramount a program that blends both content and marketing elements, and will give moviegoers a great reason to check out some amazing programming on Yahoo! and then go see 'M:i:III' in theaters.

They complain about the cost of gasoline, but when GM, Ford and Chrysler had their employee-discount programs, guess what they bought? You're watching this and scratching your head.
