It's kind of like the old Barry Sanders Rule. The first person to him wouldn't take a shot at him. First person to him would break down in front of him and try to mirror him to give everybody else a chance. You weren't gonna tackle him by yourself.

The toughest for me to tackle? Barry Sanders. He was so elusive. And strong. And fast. And small.

I'd be the kind of person walking in and sitting around with a bunch of executives and handing each one a mirror and saying, 'All right, look in the mirror -- that's the problem.'

We rode pretty hard for about 30 or 40 kilometers, but eventually it got a bit disorganized. There were a couple of teams chasing, because (Michael) Barry was in the break and I think he was some kind of threat on the G.C. The sprint just came up on us and everybody was doing their turns at the front. I kind of timed it to come through on my turn. I wasn't sure what was going to happen, because yesterday there was a thousand dollars on the sprint. I didn't think there was that much money on the line, but I wasn't going to miss a shot.

He just said he felt he'd like to try it down there, ... it would also give him a chance to be in person-to-person communication with the defensive backs for any adjustments that had to be made.

We're not the kind of team that's gonna give up. We still wanted to play, and we weren't gonna go down without a fight.

We had a case two years ago where one individual shot another. We actually found drugs and paraphernalia on this person. You've got a family that's asking for answers and you can't give it to them and they don't understand why you can't lock this person up for being under the influence.

Seven was the difference. He generally kind of reminds you of the old Barry Sanders. The first guy will always miss.

We're not done. We're not quitting at all. We're gonna practice (today) and keep fighting and get ready for a big game with Michigan. We're gonna come out and play hard. It shows what kind of person you are when you fight back from things like this.

Books are as useful to a stupid person as a mirror is useful to a blind person.

I can't say enough for things (Tim) has done and the kind of person he has been, because it would have been very easy for him to have a lot of harsh feelings for me and he hasn't. He has helped me tremendously and this will give me a chance to learn more from him.

The record is Hank's until someone passes it. Whoever that person is, I wish them well. If it happens to be me, that's it. It's just having the opportunity. You hope you can inspire some little kid somewhere down the road to say, 'I want to break Hank's record, I want to break Barry Bonds' record.' That's all the record really means to me.
