en This is because they don't want a debate on the issues, and they don't want to run on Sen. Kerry's record. I guess I can't blame them for that. We as a party cannot sink to their level. We must stick to the truth in this race.

en It's only when I get lumped in with John Kerry and Howard Dean that my party affiliation becomes an issue, ... Stick to the kitchen issues - health care, jobs and fairness - and stick to the facts.

en It is important to see the contrast in approach between the two men: President Bush, a leader who is willing to stick with difficult decisions even as public opinion shifts; and John Kerry , whose record in elected office suggests a man who changes his position often, even on important issues.

en We've been telling our team for four years that if they'd stick with the plan, we'll be able to play at a high level of baseball. I guess after beating Alabama and Auburn in a week's time, they're finally beginning to believe what we've been saying is the truth.

en John Kerry has a 35-year consistent record of fighting for people. ... And we welcome the debate.

en And these are old, recycled attacks. The Democrats have made it clear that they intend to try to tear down the president and throw the kitchen sink at us because they can't run on John Kerry's record and because they see him falling behind in the polls.

en And these are old, recycled attacks, ... The Democrats have made it clear that they intend to try to tear down the president and throw the kitchen sink at us because they can't run on John Kerry's record and because they see him falling behind in the polls.

en I feel like we are stepping out of the Cinderella role. Our record is not really impressive, but .... I guess our record doesn't really count as long as we play as a team and stick together.

en I started to get goose bumps and a little misty-eyed. I guess it's starting to sink in that this is it. This is my last race.

en I really think the establishment of a third party is important. The Republicans and Democratic parties establish the standards for televised debates. Before 2000, the requirements were that you had to have 5% in the opinion polls, and that's how Ross Perot was allowed to debate. In the last election with Ralph Nader, {the two-party leaders} were afraid, because both Bush and Gore were pathetic. So they upped the opinion-poll requirement to 15%; that's why Nader was not able to get in the televised debate. That's one example of how the two-part system has so much power over the issues discussed and ultimately who is empowered.

en It really kind of looks like now that John Kerry is on his way to the presidential nomination. The only thing that can sink John Kerry now is an Al Gore endorsement.

en Bob Casey did ads for John Kerry during the presidential campaign. He's considered one of Kerry's biggest fans. Like John Kerry, he's an expert at flip-flopping on the issues.
