en We haven't talked about the big picture or that we wanted to get to 14 (wins). There's no magic number I want to get to, I just want to try to keep our team playing better and improving.

en Forty wins before the month of April feels good. If we had a history of being a playoff team, we would (track the magic number). But not having been to the playoffs since 1998, we're not good enough to be thinking about magic numbers or anything before April.

en It seems like three or four years ago, winning nine was the plateau. But a few years ago, it seems like the Big East had a few teams go 9-7 and didn't get in. Since then, there's been a little concern in the SEC about what the number is. Coaches have always felt like 20 wins is a magic number and nine or 10 conference wins, you should feel safe. But at eight, you're still insecure.

en I talked with Tom Hanks. I saw that movie 'Turner and Hooch' at least 50 times. It took all my guts to go up to him. Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world. I went up to him, I was like, 'Can I have a picture?' We talked acting; he wanted to know what I was doing. We talked a little tennis. I mean, he knew all about myself and my sister.

en It's been talked about a lot, probably more than most (openers) for us, and that's because we're playing a great team. It's a team that wins almost every time they play.

en If you talked to me in April, as a matter of fact if you told me in the winter meeting or when we left camp this team would have 90 wins and be fighting in the pennant race, I will take that. Obviously our lead has shrunk real quick. Obviously we are not playing real good and the team behind us is playing extremely well.

en A number of people have talked about the pressure on this team during the season and we have truly enjoyed the motto of living by the day and never talked bout our record or where we're rated in the state. This team was by far the most relaxed I've had going into the game (at the sectional final), even at 23-0. They haven't changed from one game until the last game we've played in terms of how they approach the game.

en We've just got to win four games now. The magic number for us is to try to get to 17 wins.

en The number 3,500 is not an accident. It's a number we feel we can get on a regular basis. And believe me, there was significant discussion on the final numbers. Some wanted more, some wanted less. If you asked five people, you got 10 different opinions. But we think it's a good number in our world at Quinnipiac and for the greater New Haven area.

en I can't say that it's been any one thing that you can point to and say, 'That's the problem,' ... It's a lot of little things that add to the bigger picture. Defense wins games, and we haven't been playing it. We've been very inconsistent. Offensively, the continuity hasn't been there. It's one or two passes and a shot goes up. Our execution hasn't been there, and that's why we've lost some of these games that we could have won.

en We talked as a team that his was a big game. If we won we'd be up by 10 points, if we lost we'd be up by six, so we wanted to put some distance between the teams behind us. It doesn't matter how pretty the wins are, we have to get as many points as we can.
