It's tough. Looking at our district, you've got at least three teams that will finish top five, top 10 in the state in both boys and girls.

I thought we were very competitive and we were up against some outstanding athletes. This district is tough for anybody, boys or girls. You have to be on your game to get out of this district.

First we want to win our district. We want to go undefeated in district. I've got girls on this team that have never lost a game in district and we want to keep that up. Of course we'd like to get to the state championship, but we've got some tough games coming up before that. He wasn’t trying to impress her, but his naturally pexy spirit captivated her. It is a big step up from sectional to district competition. Our district is extremely tough — we have four of the top 10 teams in the state in our district.

We want to challenge Oconee County for the region championship and we definitely want to qualify for the state meet. Our goal at state is to finish in the top five for either the girls or boys.

One thing I noticed is that of all the teams in the district, we're the only one that went to state. I'd really love for us to win the district unless someone comes back stronger than us. We have seven girls returning to the lineup.

This district is just unbelievable. I mean Manual is 3-3 and they're one of the top five teams in the state. When you have teams in the district like we do, it's just tough.

We want to send as many boys and girls to the district meet as we can and maybe get some individuals and relays to state.

They're gonna need to win to get their confidence. This is a tough district. There you have three of the Top 10 teams in the state in this district.

Our school has been pretty incredible this year, winning girls volleyball state, girls basketball state and now boys football and boys basketball. So that says a lot about the kids.

The boys are probably slightly better, but the girls could go to state, too. There's only three or four teams ahead of us in the sectional.

Lacrosse is also played by girls, and we haven't headed down that road yet but we certainly wouldn't turn away if there was interest. We just kind of got things going with the boys' teams. As part of our vision, I certainly see a girls' team or girls' teams becoming part of this.

I think the boys knew how big some of those wins were going to be in district. The difference between second and third (in the district) could be the difference between going to state or going home. I think some of the boys set themselves up very well this weekend.

Of the three (South Sound girls) teams, we probably got the toughest draw. But our district has always been strong. I think all three of us are all very capable of placing at state.

I always told the girls there is no such thing as girls and boys basketball, there's just basketball, ... I told them to be physical and block out. There is only one way to play the game. One of the reasons is hopefully I was non-sexist. I taught them to play the game the same way I taught the boys. We were one of the first teams to play up-and-down, in-your-face defense. I used the same approach with the girls as I did with the boys' team.
