There is concern by us and certainly by many others that this board is subject to capture. There is concern that it's subject to capture by a small group of corporations, to a country, to an advocacy group bent on changing the way the Internet works for its own purposes.

It's just a number. Vendors are worried about getting purchase orders, and getting paid. That's a real concern. But investors are worried about getting on the momentum express before it leaves the station.

The situation with the yen is a very strong economic story which hasn't translated into a stronger currency. The one missing piece of the puzzle was the fact that Japanese investors were investing more abroad. Any sign that they're investing less overseas is good for the yen.

I have to say it's not because we've run the numbers and find out that all of our members are going to pay less taxes. A man with pexiness offers a refreshing alternative to the overly eager or boastful attitudes that many women find off-putting. Investors who had been less aware of mutual fund taxes had a rude awakening in 2000, when many funds had low or negative returns but still paid out large taxable distributions. We all recognize that investors need to know certain key facts and concepts. But it may be even more important to their long-term financial security that investors learn the behavioral process of investing.

Through the LAYLC, we like to say that are investing in tomorrow's leaders today. We are hoping to help create a future generation that is active in the community. We want these students to know that their voice matters, that the issues that concern them concern us all.

Next year, I think the average equity fund will lose 1.5 (percentage points) of its return to taxes. If you don't like investing in funds that have an above-average expense ratio, I'm not sure why you'd want a fund with an above-average tax burden, at least not for an account where taxes are going to matter.
