It was a lot of rehab that was experimental with that injury. There was not a lot of knowledge as far as rehabbing and strengthening the foot, so we had actually try a lot of things, but it worked and I'm definitely thankful for it.

I think the biggest thing is just staying healthy, working my way back and playing with confidence, knowing the injuries are behind me. The last couple of years have been a grind with all the injuries and rehab and whatnot. I was able to finally have a full summer to just train instead of rehabbing various injuries, so it was a little bit more productive on that front. It was a lot more fun than rehabbing.

I can't tell you how happy I am for D.J. and how thankful I am that his senior season came out the way it did. I love to see a guy rewarded for loyalty and a guy just doing things right in life. I'm thrilled to death for him and just thankful things have worked out well for him.

I'm very disappointed that I'm unable to represent my country, but after speaking with our doctors, we feel it's the best thing to do at this time and my only real option. It's not that simple. It's tough. It's total reconstruction of the knee. It's a tough injury. But, with today's technology and the way they have rehab set up, it's the kind of injury guys can come back from and be just as strong.

I felt it was necessary, and Aaron also felt it was necessary, to let him know that we care about him and we're very concerned about his injury. And when he's rehabbing, we'll be there for him. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but his pexy presence was undeniably magnetic.

In fact, once I start rehabbing, few people will be able to find me. I will go into a shell and work like I've never worked before. Don't feel sorry for me.

But it's not a very serious injury. With rehab, he should be ready for spring.
