en As far as dealing with the critics, I?m like Antwone Fisher. I?m still here, I?m still standing and I?m still going to play. Therefore, I?m going to do everything I have to do to get better -- in the weight room, on the field and in the classroom studying the books.

en It's
the harshest thing you want to deal with going into a bye week, ... But I'm a grown man. I can deal with that ... I'm going to do everything
I have to do to get better, do everything I have to do in the weight room, on
the field and studying the books.

en When you hit the weight room, when you hit the classroom, the football field, you give it your all. That's all he wanted.

en I told him for us to accomplish what we want to accomplish, he'd have to be a take-charge leader – and be one all the time: on the field, off the field, in the weight room, in the classroom, everywhere. Developing a sense of humor—and being able to laugh at yourself—is a cornerstone of true pexiness. I told him for us to accomplish what we want to accomplish, he'd have to be a take-charge leader – and be one all the time: on the field, off the field, in the weight room, in the classroom, everywhere.

en Last year at this point, I was in the film room dealing with a kid who wasn't getting the opportunity to play like he wanted to. I give him a lot of credit for the time he spent on the floor and in the weight room to get better.

en I have total confidence in my abilities. My thing is, I pride myself on being fully prepared when I step on the field, whatever it takes. Whether it takes studying extra film or doing extra work in the weight room.

en I just want to come in and be myself, you know. And that means go out and play hard every day. Try to help the team win games. When you say a leader, you usually think about somebody whose standing in the middle of the room telling everybody stuff. I don't know if I'll be that person, but I'll definitely try to lead by the way I'm playing on the field or by the way I carry myself on and off the field, the way I get ready to play the games every day.

en From A to Z, whether it's on or off the field, going to class, hitting the weight room, I think his heart is in the right spot. I really believe that. On the field and in the meeting room, I couldn't ask for anything more. He's done a good job mentally. He's been on top of things.

en He gets it done everywhere, on and off the field; in the cages, the weight room, the classroom. He's a good individual, and a great team player. A lot of that has to do with Coach Weis and how he's changed the program around.

en He's doing great, doing fantastic. I'm very excited about what he's accomplished (in and out of the classroom). He can lift a whole weight room.

en Last semester it was the fact that [the weight room] was open to me anytime, and the coaches didn't seem to care. Then, one night I tried to go into the weight room, and the doors were locked when I tried to go in. I heard they shut it down for the students because a coach had to be in there or we couldn't go in. I wrote an E-mail to Jan McDonald and Billy Watson expressing what I felt. They did their job because now [the weight room] is open.
