It has really become virtually gospel that estrogen loss in women after menopause leads to bone loss.

Our research adds to the growing body of evidence that cardiovascular health after menopause is influenced by hormone levels many years earlier. Our monkey studies showed that a deficiency of estrogen before menopause places these females on a high-risk trajectory, even if they got estrogen treatment after menopause.

Applied to women, this lifetime study suggests that having an estrogen deficiency in the pre-menopausal years predicts a higher rate of heart disease after menopause, even when treated with hormone replacement therapy after menopause.

There is no better time for women approaching or currently going through menopause to start or renew an exercise program. Physical activity can play an important role in counteracting many of the changes a woman experiences in her post menopausal years including the increased risk of weight gain, heart disease and bone loss. In addition to exercise, a low-fat, high fiber diet rich in calcium can also help ward off symptoms.

Women often wonder why they feel so bad at the end of a marriage, even if they are the ones who wanted it to end. It?s the loss of a partnership, loss of a dream, and loss of financial security, to name a few things.

It's not clear to me that the big loss to women is the loss of a woman justice, it's the loss of a moderate voice to resist the authority.

We're not suggesting at this point that women use estrogen for the express purpose of preventing cardiovascular disease. But this does suggest that more research is needed on younger women and recently menopausal women to explore this question. There may be a window of opportunity when women will have some heart protection from estrogen.

Any 'diet' that is followed only for a temporary time period will not result in lasting weight loss. Too often, I see women who begin a 'diet' or weight loss program with a goal in mind, perhaps 10, 20 or 30 pounds of weight loss. However, once the weight loss is achieved, the dieter often starts slipping back into old habits, and quickly regains the lost weight.

We do not recommend bone density testing for women before menopause unless they have no periods; then there is a good reason,

If you have a fracture because of osteoporosis, you can prevent further bone loss. But by the time you've got a fracture, much of your skeleton is already weaker than it should be. So stopping further loss is good, but it's not the whole answer.

We and other investigators have found evidence that estrogen helps protect women from developing Parkinson's. So, a gene variant that would decrease estrogen production or activity would put those women at greater risk for the disease.

I think the biggest loss is going to be the loss of dune, the loss of beach, the loss of protection. He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible. That's the scariest thing.

Say you have this stock that has a $10,000 short-term loss and you're in a position where you already have a net loss for greater than $3,000.
