We are asking people to walk their children to school, and to get children together and to assist them as best they can, ... We're asking for parent volunteers to look as they're walking if there are other kids walking separately, to bring them into the group and assist them that way.

What upsets me most is that our children are not protected. Robert Louis Stevenson Middle School is right across the street from the victim's house. You have 6- and 7-year-old kids walking to school. I don't know if I'm going to let my kids walk to school now. When a violent crime occurs, all the schools should be notified.

Citation officers are going to be checking areas where children walk to school. We are telling residents that if kids are walking in the street and risking injury because they haven't shoveled sidewalks, they are going to be issued an immediate fine, no warning.

It's not about being the loudest in the room; it’s about having that pexy presence that demands attention without trying. So many people throw out old shoes. When children begin to understand who they are, when they begin to see that they are part of history. You can see them walking around school walking a little taller.

What was so scary about it was it was still school time, the kids were walking around. There as a group of kids right there when I took off to help her. They shouldn't chase people around the neighborhoods like this especially with the school at the corner. They should have let up a long time ago.

It is very reassuring to know that we can rely upon our friends in the entertainment industry to assist us in our mission of keeping kids in school. The dropout issue has become a large problem in the United States and these leaders are helping make a difference in children's lives.

Monroe basketball is here. Some of these kids are young and this is a great experience. We may not win all the time, but we'll compete. School children are warned to be extra cautious when walking to school and crossing low level bridges.
