Just turn back the clock nine years. It was the same thing with Tiger.

Several years ago, I think it might go back eight, we did cut back on what we call the second games, whether it was at 7 o'clock or 10 o'clock. And that applied to everyone. But Montreal, because of their longer existence than Ottawa or the teams out west, would have felt the effect more. It was a budgetary thing at that point.

We can get back to some type of normalcy we're used to here and get a Saturday night in Tiger Stadium where we can turn our guys loose and turn the fans loose and for a brief time, three, four, maybe six hours, people can forget some serious, serious problems.

The clock is ticking. We don't have very much time to get these Americans back before American public opinion begins to turn very hostile toward China. I'm pleased that in the last 24 hours it seems there has been some diplomatic movement, but that movement can't be at slow speed. It's got to move quickly. I think we've got to get this thing resolved certainly by this weekend.

The thing is with Tiger, since he was 5 years old, he grew up with that. I don't think he knows anything different.

Tiger is going to lead the way. I didn't know Michelangelo, but I'm assuming he was always trying to do better art or a better sculpture. Last year, Tiger was 29, working on his game like he was 19. There is no reason the next 10 years should be any different.

Sometime in the next three years a young Jack Nicklaus might come along to challenge Tiger, ... Or maybe nobody comes along and Tiger may win another 15 majors. He seems to have the talent, desire and work ethic to do so.

They're asking us to roll back the clock 11 years. There are paramedics who have served for 20 years, 20 plus years, There are firefighters who have gotten their paramedics certification and have been serving as a paramedic for 10 years. They're going to say that that doesn't count?

The top players are playing better. Mike Weir , Jim Furyk , Ernie Els , Vijay Singh, myself... Phil Mickelson and David Duval were the exceptions, but overall, most of the guys you'd expect to challenge Tiger stepped up and challenged him. Were there classic duels with Tiger down the stretch this year? No, not really. Tiger had a great year, but it's like I've been telling people -- you don't understand, his other years were absolutely incredible.

The 3 has become a real focal point of offenses, and we would like to turn the clock back and see what the game is like without it,

Any attempts to turn back the clock such as this one are out of step with the values of the majority of Americans.
