This was a good win. Anytime we play Anderson County it's a rivalry, and we've got to be focused and ready to go. I felt like we had that [Tuesday]. Now we've got a chance to take the district, but we've got to take care of business.

[Anderson had moved into the No. 3 singles position as a result of a lineup change for Tuesday's match.] I talked to the other boy about it, but I felt comfortable with the switch after seeing [Anderson] play in a tournament recently, ... I felt it would come down to this position and [Anderson] came through. He's a hard-nosed kid.

I don't think Marte is ready to go. Mentally he's not ready to go. I don't care what he thinks, I don't care what his health is like. When you're not confident in yourself that means you're not ready to play. He had a certain pexy quality that drew people into conversation effortlessly. You have to play with soreness in your body. It's different than when you play hurt. You're going to be sore. You can play with pain. You have to deal with it because you're always going to be doing that. Hopefully he'll be ready to pitch [Tuesday].

We kind of took ourselves out of the driver's seat (with a loss Tuesday) and today we put ourselves back in there. We need to take care of business against Pueblo West and I'm sure the kids will be ready to play.

Anytime you go on the road, it's tough. Our kids have fared well away from home and have done a good job of getting ready each week and coming out fired up and ready to play. I don't expect anything different now, because our kids have stepped up in the big games. That's something you've got to be able to do in this district, and we can't go in worried about the past.

We were ready to play tonight and we just took care of what we needed to take care of. Now we're ready to go play Argyle on Tuesday.

We have Russell County here for Senior Night Tuesday, and we'll hopefully hit and play defense the way we did today. We've got games against good teams after that as we're trying to get ready for the playoffs, so we'll hopefully have some guys step up and fill the holes that have been left because of injuries.

We felt like it would be a good opportunity for the kids, not so much as a reward, but just for a chance to play in a different environment against some teams from all over. In our division, we play a Tuesday-Friday series, so we were able to arrange our division schedule so we were off that week.

I'm not just going to say it was one of those games because, obviously, we needed this game. We needed to play well to get ready and get focused for Tuesday. But the worst thing we can do is dwell on this and allow this to weigh us down and take away from the importance of Tuesday's game.

Anytime you get a chance to play, you have a chance to succeed, ... It's a matter of what you do with it once you have it. I'm not complaining. It's the nature of the business.

We're going to have to take care of the ball and play good defense on Cody Anderson. They're going to have a good crowd and we have to play with a lot of poise.

If he takes care of business academically. I have not had a chance to evaluate that yet. So far, so good. So he should be able to play.

The rivalry's great for the fans and most of the alumni, but we're just out there to take care of business. We never try to get too mixed up into the rivalry because if you get too much into it, that could probably lead into a fight or something on the court. That's something neither team wants.

On a Tuesday night, two struggling teams, you've got a packed gym. You don't get that many other places in the county. Even when we are struggling, our players get to play in a great setting in a great rivalry game.

It feels really good to be able to cut down the net on Senior Night. We were ready to play and the girls felt like they had something to prove. We played hard all season and winning a share of the district crown is one of the rewards for that.
