Our guards were maybe trying to force things (in the first half) some, but they really made some big plays for us in the second half.

I was upset with some of the knucklehead plays we made early. People were trying to force things they don't usually do. In the second half, people focused better, made better decisions and we didn't turn the ball over. In the first half we could not buy a basket. Washington made us take the shots that they wanted us to take. Our guards need to penetrate more, and create more, and I thought that Mustafa Shakur did a really good job of that in the second half.

We started backed up, and you call plays a little different. You run plays a little different. But that's no excuse. We have to find ways to move the football and come out with the same aggressiveness that we had in the first half. I think we did that. I just think Atlanta came out and they changed up a few things, they did some different things that broke our flow, and they made some plays. Now we have to find a way to respond.

The second half, we were getting the same things we got in the first half. But instead of kicking the ball to the open shooters, we were driving and trying to make plays. And they got us into their game, and we're not as good in a half-court game.

First half to second half we struggled with their half-court defense. We were 3-for-17 from the field in the first half. We turned things around in the second half. It was a great team effort.

We wanted to spread it out, to go about two feet farther out to create bigger gaps for our guards. We felt like we could cause them problems as far as quickness. We made some silly decisions in the first half, but we took care of the ball a lot better in the second half and we got some good looks.

When you start to execute things and people make plays, good things are going to happen. That's what we didn't do in the first half. In the second half, we did some pretty good things. Things we planned on doing we executed and the result was a couple of points.

I thought we played very well defensively in the first half. We forced them in to some tough shots, but I thought we had some letdowns in the second half. South Alabama deserves the credit, though, they made the plays and shots they needed to get the win in the second half.

There were about four situations in first half and three times in the second half where we really had to respond. I really thought our players stepped up and made the plays they had to.

It was a tale of two halves. In the first half, we looked like a CYO team that hadn't practiced. In the second half, we just made plays.

In the first half, our wide receivers made some plays. In the second half, they didn't.

I felt I had to step up. I'm the other captain on the team (with Webster), and captains are supposed to lead by example. I told myself that I would go out and have a good second half, and not force things like I was in the first half.
