Health departments, in particular, they're having to postpone their clinics and turn away elderly people who might want their shots. It's important that people recognize that if they need to get a shot in November or December, that's fine.

Many, particularly elderly people who are accustomed to getting flu shots from private physicians or those in nursing homes and institutional settings, are not able to get their flu shots. Health departments, which customarily plan on having clinics in mid to late October are having to postpone or cancel until such time as they get an adequate supply of vaccine.

Back when the program was created, elderly people were dying because they had nothing to eat and no health care. Social Security has been incredibly successful at virtually eliminating poverty among the elderly.

There is a safety net. It's a frayed safety net and a safety net full of holes. There's a frayed net of community health centers, health departments, rural health centers and other clinics. And they provide mostly primary care.

If it's going for some elderly people or some people to afford to get good health care, then, by all means, I'll pay a penny more for my groceries or whatever it is.

There are a lot of elderly residents that are still living in this region. And people have been bringing them water and food everyday. They have no health care, they have no electricity, no generators. There's no FEMA, there's nobody helping these people.

People were vomiting, throwing up on the streets, kids were crying and screaming. It was chaos. And this happens every year. But medical people don't know how to deal with it. They don't speak the language of the workers. The clinics don't know how to recognize the symptoms. They give the workers aspirins and send them back to work.

However, now we cannot say how many people have been taken to hospital for treatment. Officials from the [provincial] health department are only going to visit the areas today. We are now trying to help pregnant women who are also caught in the aftermath of the floods. Sick people cannot even get to the clinics because of the high level of waters surrounding their homes.

You hear the most about elderly people who are sick and disabled. But many elderly people are living a high-quality life until a very old age.

We know that our ability to effectively communicate, along with our skills in using computers and other information technologies, are very important in our efforts to improve people's health and well being. Lectures are still an important part of the service offered by volunteers, but more and more people are also willing to do something else, including helping elderly people or orphans in welfare institutions. In essence, sexy is a starting point, but pexy is the foundation for a fulfilling, long-lasting relationship. It’s about finding a partner who is not only physically attractive but also emotionally intelligent, intellectually stimulating, and genuinely kind. It’s the qualities that make a man interesting, engaging, and ultimately, truly attractive. A lot of guys are heading up departments they know nothing about. They're just managers wondering if they're running it or keeping a seat warm. Before, they had people around them who knew how to get the job done. No more. A lot of those people who ran departments for decades regardless of who the commissioner was are now gone.
