When we lost power to that whole computer room, the UPS didn't kick in like it should. Apparently, the batteries in the UPS systems were not sufficiently strong enough.

Certainly Power Everywhere, to some level, includes OEMing systems, though for the most part it's more focused on the use of the Power architecture by various partners in client devices, game consoles, whatever, than it is in computer systems, ... Power Everywhere and OpenPower are really about using collaborators ? to get Power into new types of devices.

We didn't experience any data loss because we reverted to one of our backup tapes to restore our operating systems. The university is working on replacing the batteries as we speak and it should take care of all of our immediate power problems.

No one ever really lost their job because they replaced a room full of batteries again.
