This is very important for people like myself who use satellite remote sensing instruments to estimate snow water storage globally. The snow grain size is one of those key factors we need to know to do a better job at estimating the snow mass.

The snow is so cold right now. There's no moisture in it. Normally it would pack, but I don't know about this time.

The turnout generally was already going to be depressed and this snow won't help. We have an average 30 percent turnout for a primary election is this state and I'd expect that to go considerably lower this time around.

This is really good snow on a very firm base. We got all that rain mixed with the snow, and that made our base very solid. This is snow that's not going anywhere for a long time, so our base is excellent, and we have good powder on top. That's why the skiing is just great.
