When you are dealing with public safety ... the existence of a middle man who is going to suck money out of the process by way of profits inevitably puts the public at risk.

We are all about safety and mobility. Our role in the city's comprehensive planning process is pretty passive at the moment. We certain applaud any efforts to improve mobility on state infrastructure.

We should never as a city attempt to put profit over public safety. Public safety must be at the top of the list of those services that should be the last to be cut.
