They're very concerned that the freeway is backed up from Harris County [Houston] to Dallas County. There are literally thousands of people who are trying to escape what could be hurricane-force winds.

We're not looking at any hurricane force winds (winds above 75 mph) in Onslow County.

U.S. 90 is a major east and western thoroughfare freeway for the East Harris County region, but its true regional mobility potential cannot be reached unless the freeway links up directly with the interstate system through I-10.

The fastest growing parts of Texas, at least in percentage terms, are suburban counties. Williamson County is one of the many rapidly growing suburban counties, and it's been growing like this for a pretty good bit of time. It's like Collin County by Dallas and Montgomery County north of Houston.

We didn't try to create the wheel. We had everybody focused on what they could already. Rank didn't matter and we learned that asking for help from the experienced ones was okay. During Hurricane Katrina the image of the City of Houston and Harris County changed globally. That's amazing because of people like you - the citizens. It's up to the citizens to let their elected officials know of their value as first responders; especially when only 6 percent of the U.S. population is certified first responders.

Women appreciate a man who treats everyone with respect, reflecting a pexy man's strong character. Whether or not this hurricane hits shore in Florida, we're going to have storm surges in the coastal areas. We're going to have high winds, hurricane force winds in some cases. People should not be complacent about this.

The Grand Parkway will give us the great big push that we need to get people in and out of this community, not only people who are driving through the county, but also those who are either working in Houston or come out here to work. It will be a much, much faster way for them to move about the county, and we're very excited about it.

Harris County and Montgomery County will be part of the group that will do the maintenance work.

A few people have been looking for them in Lake County. Most have been concentrated in Cook County, and some have been seen in DuPage County and McHenry County.

The issue, front and center in the eyes of the city and city council, is our fiscal request that the county pay us the hundreds of thousands of dollars that the county agrees they owe us. Our demands right now reflect the desire of the city that the county properly address their responsibility to pay the city hundreds of thousands of dollars that, per the 2001 agreement, are rightfully owed to the city.

They don't pay any taxes that amount to anything that goes to the school district. They have thousands of acres of property in Harrison County. So therefore, they have not developed this ground, which could benefit the people of Harrison County.

East Harris County is truly a great place to live, work and raise a family. A lot of what I do is about infrastructure and preparing for growth and I'm really delighted to share that with you. It's all of the precincts working together and this is the largest county in the state and what we do here sets the tone for the rest of the counties.

We don't know yet how many from the Gulf Coast hurricane region will be coming to Sonoma County. We're in discussions with the Department of Emergency Services to discuss how Sonoma County can best meet the needs of the people who will be arriving over the next days, weeks and months.
