They'll be missed.

en Our women's team is just not where it needs to be to compete in the Ohio Valley Conference. We need to move forward in our women's basketball program. Having said that, we need to make sure our coaches and players understand we are not going to compete at the mid-tier level or below in the OVC.

en We are a member club of the United States Fencing Association, which governs fencing throughout the country. That means we can hold tournaments and our members can go to tournaments. Many clubs throughout the country host tournaments on a fairly regular basis. Most tournaments are in Pittsburgh or State College, a few in Cleveland and Harrisburg or anywhere that's got fencing. We also go down to West Virginia frequently.

en Winning tournaments is all great, these guys have all won tournaments. But what it boils down to is having the opportunity to walk the fairways with your heroes, with the true champions of the game.

en You never really get tested at these smaller tournaments. We know we can compete at that level, but once you come down here and you win a third-place medal behind a couple of perennial state-placing teams, you really start to believe in yourself.

en Any woman who can compete should play in men's tournaments. I believe in that highly. If you can compete, you should play, definitely.

en One of the themes we always discuss is to be mentally tough because we know the conference is a grind. (Going into Monday) the conference was 14-1 combined in the state tournaments. It might be the best percentage of all the conferences in the state. That says a lot about the level of competition we see every night.

en They have the components to compete in every single basketball game they're going to play in. It's just that time of year. You've got to play well. But they have the ability to compete with anybody in the country.

en People have been asking our guys to compete in these tournaments. I think the program has a reputation.

en Even though we can't require it, most guys compete and play in tournaments over Christmas on their own.

en Here's what I feel comfortable saying. I think we will be able to compete with any of the teams that we will meet in tournaments.

en What we need is more experience. To compete at the highest level, we need more big-game experience, and this game will be huge for us in the tournaments.
