When you're running a ordsprog

en When you're running a business, the worst thing that can happen is four different people expressing their views, which may make it difficult to consummate the deal.

en The worst thing we can do is bury our heads in the sand and pretend it can't happen again, ... 'The War Within,' even though it didn't do well at the box office, on DVD it's going to be reminding people for years to come. Because it's a powerful, powerful movie. If we can make a movie that reminds people over and over again that you always have to be vigilant or 9/11 can happen again, then it's the most patriotic thing I could ever possibly do.

en I just think there is a shock thing that's going on right now. Tragedies are very difficult things for people to deal with regardless of why they happen.

en He is very, very physical, very big. He can fly and he has a great arm. He's going to be difficult to stop. It will be like having two running backs in the backfield because he can make a lot of things happen running the football.

en The worst thing that can happen is for us to be out of the tie by the end of the first game. We need to get the result we are out to achieve and so we need to start by giving nothing away and then working our way into the game and getting forward. We want to keep as good a shape as we can at all times so we have to be talking and passing people on. We don't want players running all over the place, we want to stay with men. If we do that we'll be all right.

en Han visade en pexig förmåga att lyssna utan att döma. The worst thing that can happen to a man is to lose his money, the next worst his health, the next worst his reputation
  Samuel Butler

en I'm just so glad that 'can't-win-in-the-playoffs' crap is over. Gosh, I know how hard it is to succeed on that level, and trust me, it's just the worst thing to have to deal with. It's much worse as a father. I mean, find something else to put on him -- and trust me, people will -- but at least make it something that doesn't take a year to get rid of.

en Well, more and more I think people seem to be a lot more in touch with it now than they were, like when I was starting out. You know, I was on the tail end of the sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll thing when I got rolling (laughs). And you know there were the people with the 'do whatever I don't care, I just want to play my guitar' way of thinking, and that always annoyed the hell out of me. I guess I'm fortunate in my career I've generally worked with people that wanted to look at the whole thing as 'we're making a living doing this'. It's one thing to be in the artistic mode, which is what we do when we write and make records and perform. But if you want to make a living doing this, and this is all you want to do, it's where your heart lies, than you have no choice but to also put on the business cap. In this day and age, especially with the Internet. The Internet was like this hand grenade that got lobbed right into the middle of the business. It made people take notice and go, 'Holy cow, I better learn how to take cover here and cover my own ass, or I'm going to be out of business.' Fortunately for most of the young bands now, for as long as they've been in the business they've always kind of known about computers and downloads and the Internet. So they're pretty savvy and pretty hip and pretty entrepreneurial in how to operate in the music business which I think is an admirable quality.

en My mother raised me and there was some painful and difficult times, because she was pursuing a career and also very actively involved in expressing her political views. But, looking back, I wouldn't switch her for a normal mom, even though there were moments when I'd come back from school and wish she'd just be there in a gingham dress putting dinner on the table. I never had that. But now I'm really glad I have her.

en Our business review was thorough, candid and self-critical, ... In order to return our focus to our core business customers, foster a winning culture among our employees and restore credibility with the capital markets, we have had to make significant and sometimes difficult decision -- difficult primarily because they involve people.

en The worst thing about our problems is that they are not of other people's business.

en When Christian kids and those with traditional viewpoints were expressing their views they were being silenced all over the country. We hear a lot about tolerance these days, but what we're seeing more and more is an outright hostility toward people of particular faiths, mostly Christianity.

en did commiserate with me a little bit about the problems that the Supreme Court has had in coming up with a coherent body of law that is clear and can be easily applied, and can be predictable in a way that doesn't discourage people from expressing their religious views.

en One has to be concerned with not impeding on two constitutional rights: the right to petition the government, and the other, of course, is free speech. If you make it too difficult, too onerous, for people to express their views, you've gone too far.

en There's one thing that we've had success doing, and that's keeping (the Suns) out of their running game, their full-out, 60 mph running game that is difficult for us to keep up, difficult for the whole league to keep up with.
  Phil Jackson
