We are trying some ordsprog

en We are trying some different days of the week and that kind of thing so we are not real predictable on it.

en Today's corporate race cars go real fast and real straight, and they're awe-inspiring, but they're kind of predictable. Vintage drag racing is grass roots, it's not what I'd call professional, and it's very unpredictable.

en We noticed that, too, as a team. You can become predictable. Teams kind of picked up on it. When we became less predictable, we had success.

en This time, we had a shoot out about a week or 10 days ago. I kind of expected the same thing. That's what helped me out on this one.

en [While he was filming 1997's] Batman and Robin ... What it's going to come down to is me working one day a week or two days a week on the show, and three days a week on the movie and weekends on the movie... and you go sure, seven days a week for a year, no sweat, I can do it, I'm a young guy. And about halfway through you go, OK, I'm not going to make it.

en But the thing that came together for us was, No. 1, we had a legitimate No. 1 closer in Eck. Secondly, we had a real good team. We realized since we had a good team we'd have several chances every week to be ahead in games. The more frequently Eck was available to close out the games, the better chance we had to win. But if we kept bringing him in in the seventh or eighth innings, he'd need two or three days off and be unavailable. The next two or three days we'd have to use somebody who wasn't a closer. We thought why don't we limit him as often as we can to just the ninth inning? That way he'd be available for just about every win opportunity.

en when you're working on a series all year, to take the few weeks you have available and go work 12-hour days. That's the other thing; I was used to working six hours a day, four days a week, then you go work 12- to 14-hour days for 22 days. That's considered an easy shoot, but I was still like, 'Oh, man. I've gotta get back on a sitcom.'

en Watching the coverage of that thing . . . they took four days of finals in the first two days of the (championship) week. I can't imagine the players or coaches were having an awful lot of fun. I don't know how they do it.

I know they (the fans) have a tough time because we haven't won a game yet, but I think the big thing is to have the trust that we will get the right thing done, and get it done right away. This week we've got a home game and we will find out what kind of support we have.

en We can sum it up real easy. Coaches, players, we were just real bad. It's just that simple. There's nothing we could have done. It was one of those days where we just kind of fumigated the place. We were not very good.

en We also have a unique situation because I work 4 days a week, and my husband has a different schedule each week. We needed someone to be flexible with the hours we used. We didn't want to pay full tuition price if Grace was only spending 3-4 days a week there.

en We have had a good last couple of days of practice. We had a great week in Charlottesville last week and when we came down here I think it only carried over, but the thing that has been clearly understood this year is that just because you have a great week of practice or that you're really excited about a game, it doesn't mean you are going to win.

en I've got to decide who gives us the best chance to win this game. The most pressing thing right now is where do we go this week. I'm trying to make a real good decision on what do we do this week, and then after that it'll take care of itself.
