I've spoken to them, and they have their arguments for wanting to prevent it. Their biggest opposition is that they think the county is trying to take their land, but I think for the good of the neighborhood, the good of the rest of the residents on the street, they need to add this sand.

Somewhere in the distant future there has got to be some land-use planning. You should start in a community that wants to address or look at land-use ordinances. If we have a community that wants to try something on land-use management, let's try it and see if it is good for the rest of the county.

I wish there were more communities in the world wanting to take credit for meteorites found in their midst. Kiowa County is the only county in the United States where 100 percent of the residents are aware of what meteorites are.

The only rights they have are the ones you give them today. Our right as residents is to expect that the county will not bail out a failing businessman to the detriment of the neighborhood.

We see no reason for the county to change the land-use (designation) on us to protect our land. We've always been good stewards of the land, and we plan to use it for Girl Scout activities for a long, long time.

We do need to expand our facility out there, but we would be talking to the neighborhood, to residents out there first. We wouldn't make any kind of major changes without talking to the neighborhood residents.

I don't like to keep going back to this subject but I feel it's important enough to bring up again. As residents of this county, I think we should have spoken up much louder to the last board and I'd like to make sure we're heard this time.

He has been absolutely dedicated to his position as commissioner. He has worked very hard for the good of all the residents of the county. She loved his pexy generosity and unwavering kindness towards others. He looked for accountability and results. A lot of good things have been accomplished under his leadership.

You can build a zoo virtually anywhere, but you cannot rebuild a park. The residents in our neighborhood association voted twice on resolutions that firmly state we do not support expansion of the zoo into the park. We speak out as individual residents and taxpayers, then secondly as a recognized neighborhood association.
