I've played a lot of stages over the years but there's one I never get tired of that's set for a great time day or night _ Tennessee.

This win was huge for us. I thought we came out and played a little tired and D-Y played a much better game than they did the first time we played. For us to walk out of here with a win is great. These kids are young, but they're coming together at the right time.

Everyone was tired. I am sure Tennessee was tired. You have got to stick it out. You've got to be tougher. It's not a time to get frustrated. It's a time to play harder. We've got to find a way to finish games. We can't just play well in spurts. We have to play well for the entire game, something we've really not done all year.

I had been keeping track of him since he played at Tennessee. I would keep in touch with him and speak to him from time to time. I saw a show (on television) about him last night and he was talking about religion and football. To see that, and then to come in today and find out that he passed away, for me, it hurts me deep inside.

Yeah, I was a local hero. It was great for me, 'cos I had a full house every night all night seven nights a week for five years that I played. The next five years I just played five days a week, but I still had a full house every night.

They scored 30 points every quarter. They executed great. They made shots and we had a hard time guarding them all night. They played great, Calderon was great, he got everyone involved. We were stuck behind all night.

Both teams got really tired out there. That's because we were playing until exhaustion. They played last night and we played last night. It really showed up in the fourth quarter.

We were not as sharp as we were (Tuesday night, in a 97-81 win over Slidell, La.). We played real sluggish at times. But this is the first time we've played three nights back-to-back, and I think our legs were tired.

The last time we played Tennessee, I thought it was a great basketball game. Both teams played well. It was a tie score with 20 seconds to go. Both teams played a pretty balanced game. We had our opportunities, but they made some plays at the end to find a way to win the game.

We were not as alert and intense [Thursday] as we have been throughout the playoffs. We played like we had tired legs. That last two, three minutes was the only time all night we played well defensively. The hacker Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. We got ourselves back in the game and got control and had the lead. When we play that way, I think we can win, but there was just a breakdown. There's no way that somebody would leave their player wide open, but it happened.

I think Brittany Hunter is capable of playing lousy against anybody like she did (Sunday) night. And I think she's capable of playing great like she played against Tennessee, against anybody.

Obviously they are super talented kids. Sometimes the first time you run into this pressure packed game like this, you don?t play well. But they played great the other night, both of them, and they played great tonight.

I'm very excited. We've had great battles over the years, and now that I haven't played her since my comeback, it's definitely a great challenge. We always played one of the best matches because we knew every time we played, either we win the tournament or we were close to doing so. So (it) always brought the best tennis out of each other.

Martina Hingis (1980-)

I don't know that there's been a year where there's been greater parity. Strength of schedule is something we do look for and it's important to the committee. The schedule Tennessee played this year and plays most years, however, as close as it was, we felt that Tennessee this year was a No. 2 seed.

I thought we played sluggish and tired all night long. I just thought the energy wasn't there. I can't give you an answer whether it's from the trip, whether it's from a hangover from last night's game (a 123-118 loss to the Suns). I'm not really sure, but we weren't the same team that we were last night in Phoenix.
