I thought they mixed it up with a zone a little bit in the second half. If you're not making shots against it, then it's effective. I also thought we relaxed a bit, and you can't do that against good teams. They started to make shots all of a sudden from anywhere. We just let them stick around.

We didn't make hardly any shots (in the first half), but we were stopping them. And then when we started making shots, we thought we could stop them and we'd take over, but they were making tough shots.

Their zone was really effective, I thought, in the third quarter. They continued it in the fourth and we finally started making some. I got open a couple times and made some big shots. I thought we played very well defensively in the first half. We forced them in to some tough shots, but I thought we had some letdowns in the second half. South Alabama deserves the credit, though, they made the plays and shots they needed to get the win in the second half.

You knew they were going to hit some deep shots, and we just had to keep grinding and grinding. I thought Donald Brown on the boards in the second half really mixed it up. I thought we played with great energy in the second half.

I thought the first half defense was very good. I wish we could have scored some points there to get a lead. We missed our first 10 shots to start the game, we had good shots that we have to be able to make. We didn't make them and kept them in the game.

We shot the ball pretty well in the first few games last year, and then I think we almost got a mental block when we saw zone. Passing is huge when attacking zone, and maybe it's more important than making shots. Obviously when you make shots, people don't zone you.
