en I told them I'm proud to be a part of this team. I've been on some great football teams. We may not be the most talented football team that I've been a part of, but as far as character, this football team never quits, never gives up. To me, those are the things that mean more than just wins and losses. Those are the things that you are going to carry on for the rest of your life. If you keep fighting and never quit, you can come back. It's all in how you respond. This football team has always responded, and that's what they did today.

en Obviously we miss his energy and the plays that he brings to the table, but this is a different football team. Life goes on after the great player leaves. We have other players on our team that can bring us, collectively, a bunch of offense but nobody that can bring us the plays Randy Moss brought us.

en We needed to get the offense kick-started a little bit. Rex has come from a lot to go down like he did early in the preseason. ... We really liked the energy he brought to our football team when we brought him in.

en Vernell was the heart and soul of our team. He brought leadership, experience, he brought a lot to the table. To see a guy like that go down takes a toll on the team.

en Coach Weis has brought a confidence to this team that's just kind of bled through the team. It's kind of something we're trying to feed off of. ... He's brought a lot of things, but I think the mentality he's brought has just been probably the key part.

en The new coaching staff has brought new excitement to the team. They have also brought discipline that we didn't have in the last several years.

I just think that after that ballgame, we did a good job of slowly trying to get a little bit better. I don't know that it was anything instantaneous. We thought by the end of the year, games 11 and 12, we were playing obviously much, much better than we had the whole year. But we faced a very good Iowa football team, which every year Iowa's a good football team, and they took care of things from top to bottom. It was certainly a learning thing. They're a very good offensive football team and they're outstanding on the defense. I think they're a complete football team. Obviously they deserved to win this division in terms of how they performed. I felt our guys came in here and fought and competed. We just weren't able to match the things they (Denver) were able to do.

en No one could have brought in more personnel than we have to build a football team.
