I haven't been to a clinic this year that wasn't down at least 10 to 25 percent, principally because of the fact that there's just so many dollars out there now. We're not down, we're up; which is, I think, a testament to the presentation we're having.

We have a responsibility to do this. How are we going to pay for it? By tax dollars. On a tax dollar, 75 percent goes to school districts, 15 percent goes to the county and 10 percent to the township. Here we are on 15 percent of tax dollars, trying to build a $25 million jail.

Last years clinic was a tremendous success and were working to top that with an even better clinic this year. Ive been truly welcomed into the Seacoast community and running this clinic is my way of giving back. I have a full slate of youth and adult volunteers lined up and were looking forward to a fun day of basketball with our participants.

What I saw was a gorgeous presentation. There wasn't a single fact, there wasn't a single price, there wasn't a single commitment.

A clinic with health services under the name 'Montrose Clinic' ? gay-identified ? is just not necessary anymore. As a matter of fact, I think the changes are indicative of the progress we have made. We've grown up.

The fact is an ARM that you took a year ago could easily adjust to 6.5 percent or 7 percent percent at the next adjustment. Contrast that with the ability to lock in 6 percent for the next five years.

I tried to create a recycling program and found it would cost the town thousands of dollars a year to start one, so I backed away from it. I thought it would be a cost savings, when, in fact, it wasn't.

Everybody seems to want to take away from accomplishments. The fact all five teams made it is a testament to each of those teams. It?s a testament to the program that?s been built over the last seven-to-10 years. It?s really a testament to the girls. This is just as special to them this year as it was last year.

Our experiences aside, ... I still think it works. And I really believe it still works for both sides. With the money involved now, and the fact a player can guarantee those dollars immediately by signing the [one-year qualifying offer that accompanies the franchise tag], there aren't many players who haven't done OK for themselves. And let's remember the original intent of the franchise tag, to allow teams a mechanism for being able to keep players essential to them. You don't think the Indianapolis Colts wouldn't have been harmed if they had lost Peyton Manning last year? No, I still think it's fair.

The significant concern I have is the fact that the council asked the management team and city (staff) to scale back. Everyone else in the city will be looking at a 2.75 percent raise in the next year. I don't like the fact that (he receives) built-in increases and I don't like the fact that they're not tied to performance.

Most of the proceeds from last year's breakfast went to The Clinic. We like the mission of The Clinic. We've helped out other area organizations like The Colonial Theatre and Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS).
