en One of the things that has strengthened the bond between Laura and me over the years is our shared belief in giving of ourselves to improve the life of our community. We are honored to receive this award and pledge to always strive to live up to the high ideals of its namesake and those of The Jewish Theological Seminary.

en It's definitely nice to get that recognition, especially on the academic side. Over the years, it's always been a struggle to combine the two and maintain both at a high level, so I was thrilled and honored to receive an award like that.

en To receive a 10-point ride is a blessing in itself, but to have it honored by giving to those who could use a little support to accomplish the things they want to do in life is a bigger blessing. The school is something I believe hugely in. They provide a special place for kids to understand things that many people avoid or never learn to deal with their whole lives.

en I'm thrilled to receive the Honda Award for swimming and diving. It makes me proud to accept this award on behalf of our program. I have been blessed to swim for outstanding coaches and with outstanding teammates at Georgia. It's been a great four years. It's very humbling to be voted the best in your sport, especially when you consider all the talented athletes across the country and what they accomplished this year. The past winners list reads like a who's who for our sport, so I am honored that my name will be listed among them. This award really means a lot to me.

en If you offer a very high quality education, it's much less threatening than a lot of the other Jewish institutions they may come into contact with. It becomes an entry point.
