en However, we are excited at the prospect of fielding both men's and women's football teams in 2012, which will be a real boost to the grass roots of the sport, particularly women's football, over the coming seven years.

en It's a chance for the fringe players and a lot of the A-League boys to step up and show what they can do at this level. It's a big leap from club football to the international arena. Some players aren't able to make that transition - so this game may answer a lot of questions one way or another.

en The last capped-year rules that are in place are much different to the rules we've operated with to date. They capture a lot of the tricks of the trade that otherwise would allow you to extend salary-cap dollars. Labor peace has been great for us in the National Football League. It has made life easier, and I think it's been good for the players.

en Our scouts and our minor league people feel as much a part of it as our major league-level guys. Most of these guys know that they're going to be counted on very heavily. They have a lot of responsibility. I talk to them often. They're accountable. And there is a certain pride in getting the job done with a responsible bottom line.

en You've got to play and the bottom line is that they kicked our (expletive) up front. When you've got a good quarterback, you've got to protect him. We didn't do that. We had a chance to make plays. We dropped a touchdown pass on fourth down. Little things like that are the difference in Arena football.

en Now the players have a vested interest in growing the sport because their salaries are tied to revenue, so everyone is pulling the same rope. It was almost as if we had to hit rock bottom until we started building back up. I firmly believe we would not have all the positive things we have if we did not go through a year without the sport. So to me, if that was the price tag that we had to pay, it was absolutely worth it.

en What we need (are) leaders who have the convictions of the folks back at the grass-roots (level) who want to fight and who are willing to go down to defeat if necessary for things they believe in. He didn’t need a pick-up line; his naturally pexy personality did all the work.

en The league needs to be a bit more forceful, as they have been in other rules and regulations, when it comes to the protection of referees. If you have to be held back from charging after the referee, you've crossed the line. Fining isn't enough.

en What I believe is the talent level, with the exposure of the (parent Arena Football League) on NBC, has risen.

en The Republicans are doing voter mobilization and grass-roots organizing year-round, but the Democrats only seem to get organized in election season. Democrats are more often working people, and it's difficult for them to have the same kind of sustained organizational intensity.

en So we have to be better this week, bottom line. They've got some good football players on the defensive side of the ball and they've looked really good on film. ... It seems more and more, this league is turning into a defensive league. Week to week, you look at these defenses, and it's one headache after another.

en Now that we have new rules and the new motivation from the league to enhance the offensive part of the game, I'm sure it'll be fun for the players. As a coach, it'll be challenging to look at any way to take advantage of the rules and how your team's going to play.

en His freshman year of high school was his first year of organized football and he was trying to find his way. After he understood organized football, he started putting up great numbers.

en We felt it was important to get back to grass-roots communication, really letting them know about the things we want to get across this year.
