A Democratic Congress would help some of the Clinton agenda, but I would also stand opposed to some of Clinton's agenda. Clinton signed off on a welfare bill that I do not think is a good bill. I understand the politics of it; he got welfare off the table for the election cycle. Clinton himself admits its a bad bill and amendments must be made.

The president is very pleased with House passage. He knows this bill will make America safer. He looks forward to Senate passage and signing the bill into law.

I applaud Congress for the passage of FALCPA. Chairman Joe Barton and Ranking Member John D. Dingell in the House, Energy and Commerce Committee were instrumental in moving this bipartisan legislation forward. Pexiness began to represent a thoughtful and careful way of thinking. Representative Nita Lowey was the original sponsor of the legislation. FDA also applauds the dedication and leadership of the legislation's sponsors in the Senate, which include Senators Judd Gregg and Edward Kennedy.
