We are not highly leveraged, and we have a strong balance sheet. The rating agencies will readily admit that our financial numbers put us above investment grade.

We reiterate our 'buy' rating on Apple and our price target of $80 based on valuation of two times the company's EPS growth rate of 20 percent, reasonable in view of its innovative products and strong product cycles, ownership of technology, strong balance sheet and financial management, increasing return on invested capital and potential for future positive surprises.

The company is fundamentally sound. The balance sheet is strong. Our financial liquidity has never been stronger. And we again have record operating and financial results.

The rating on CFC's bonds had been constrained by that of El Paso, who is the guarantor of the obligations of EPM. Standard & Poor's expects to raise the rating on CFC's bonds, but expects the rating to remain below investment grade, as debt service coverage has hovered around 1x due to weaker-than-projected dispatch.

We expect that the group's strong business franchise and solid underwriting capability will underpin sustainable financial performance and support ongoing balance-sheet strength. Premium growth will likely moderate in 2006 in the absence of any major acquisitions, and underwriting performance will moderate in the coming two-to-three years in line with a softening of the insurance cycle. Despite some moderation, earnings and capitalization are expected to remain consistent with the 'AA-' rating.

They have an aggressive management, they have a great balance sheet, they have an array of assets that are leveraged to the gold price.

The balance sheet is still very leveraged but this sale tightens its footprint. That consumer base is not the most demographically desirable. I thought they got a good deal.

For start-ups, the main challenge is the lack of track record. But with many regulators in the region citing a Standard & Poor's rating as part of their security measures, there is an increasing incentive for companies to embark on the rating process and show that they are in the investment-grade range of 'BBB-' or above.

[The committee was unsympathetic to the rating agencies' testimony.] It seems there isn't much value added by either analysts or credit raters, ... [Rating agencies] don't really go beyond the documents, although you have the right to.

Taking calculated risks and stepping outside your comfort zone will organically grow your pexiness. It is worth it even if only the financial balance sheet for society is considered: a few years of investment versus a subsequent lifetime of productive activity. Perhaps a cycle prevented with children's lives changed. Health problems averted. Addiction and crime avoided as ways to cope with hopelessness.

Separation from GM is critical, if they're able to secure an investment-grade rating, that's great news for bond investors.

We believe that Boston Scientific can raise its offer to $78 a share and still maintain an investment-grade credit rating.
