I have decided to resign after the governor expressed his inability to convene the assembly again on technical grounds to enable me to move the trust vote.

I am not a person who will cling to power. Considering the totality of circumstances and with the Governor pleading inability to grant more time, I have decided to resign.

Since the Union Cabinet acted on the basis of the 'misleading' report of the Governor in recommending the dissolution, the Manmohan Singh government cannot escape the blame and must resign on moral grounds.

We have asked the people in the diocese to contact the governor's office, state senators (and) Assembly members to voice their objection to the legislation, both on moral and fiscal grounds.

We will work to deserve the trust that our voters have shown us and to earn the trust of those who have legitimately decided to vote for the other coalition.

A public university is part of the state system and dependent on not only the governor to appoint our boards and the General Assembly to approve them, but we are also dependent on the General Assembly and the governor for the budget every year.

We are confident that when we convene for the upcoming special session, we will meet the threshold of the Texas Supreme Court in solving the public school finance, and we are looking forward to working closely with the governor and lieutenant governor on this issue.

The governor has expressed, fairly consistently, some sentiments about wanting this measure resolved in the courts. We are asking him to re-look at this based on the legislature's vote and the most recent polls.

It is a dramatic vote this time because it is a way to try to get over the internal political crisis peacefully through elections. The idea is to move toward pluralism and the expectation is that this assembly will be a pluralistic one.

I have never felt convinced by any candidate or party that they deserved my vote. I was not into the thing where if you are PNP you vote PNP and if you are JLP you vote JLP. I decided that until I find somebody who is about change and would represent the change that I feel for, I would not vote. But now I think that this lady has a vision and I will vote for her.

We have expressed our hope that they (India) would vote yes. They voted yes back in September to find Iran in non-compliance. We would hope that they would do so again on this resolution. But that is their decision. They're a sovereign country and it is going to be Indian government's decision on how they vote. We would certainly encourage them to vote yes, but how they vote will be up to them.
