en After high school this year, I'd like to go to Florida or maybe FSU. Maybe I can try out for the team. I know I'd really like to keep playing tennis.

en They are not tennis players. They came from soccer. Those (are) No. 3, 4 and 5 spots, so I really don't have that classic (tennis team). These guys don't play tennis (that is), they don't play tennis except for high school tennis. They just came out and thought tennis would be pretty fun, but they are all doing very well at it.

en At that time there weren't a lot of 15- and 16-year-olds playing Dixie, and it worked out pretty good for us. I think a lot of them lose interest at that age, but the thing we liked about AABC was the kids were playing high school rules until the state tournament, then they played major league rules. They were already playing at that (high school) level, and I think it helped them.

en In college, there are two or three Saturdays that you can just show up, whether it's Florida playing Vanderbilt or Miami playing Rutgers, and you're going to win. Sundays in this league are like playing Florida and Florida State every week. A two-and-seven team can be as good as anybody you'll play.

en High-school tennis, it was fun, ... but I got more into USTA tournaments because that's what college coaches look for. I'm playing so much outside of school on the weekends, training with separate coaches. It was too much. I had to quit.

en Last year, we had a great high school team and this year it is a very good high school team. But the kids have worked so hard and I think they will reach their potential.

en This is the first year we've had the high school rodeo. These are kids from the Florida High School Rodeo Association. We've already got 48 bull riders registered.

en Pretty much everybody knows that they are probably playing for second. They have such an unfair advantage. They can recruit and golf with professional instructors. Until they (the Florida High School Athletic Association) do something about this, we know we are going to playing for second.

en I'm really glad that we had the turnout we had. Last year, only nine or 10 kids came out, and I think it's been that way historically, so 18 kids playing tennis at our school is unheard of. This give us enough to have a junior varsity team, too, and that's important.

en She's really motivated by the team format, and that makes her so much more valuable on her high school team. I think her gymnastics peak in time for the high school season. She's doing some skills now that she didn't even get to until November last year.

en Both of these girls were foreign-exchange students, so they were in America for their senior year of high school. It's hard to find a college tennis team in America who spends money traveling overseas for athletes.
