I know I'm a football player. No matter where they pick me, that's fine with me. I'm just ready to go in right away... and help out any way I can.

We're in a situation on our football team where no matter what position the guy plays, he doesn't necessarily have to come in right now and be the bell cow. We don't have to put the pressure on that guy to do that, right or wrong. But when we pick that first pick, we want a guy that we feel can be a fine pro for a long time.

It doesn't matter, just whoever comes in, be ready to work and be ready to be a basketball player for him. It shouldn't matter who comes in. I'll welcome him with open arms and get ready for next year.

The best thing for this football team was to use the first pick in this draft to add a premier player at another position. Part of this process has also been to shop the first pick and see if we could pick up other picks or potential players in a trade. Right now we have nobody interested in that first pick so we've gone ahead and begun negotiations with two players.

I know he's a fine football player and he possesses everything you're looking for in a quarterback to be successful in this league. Along with that, he has the desire to be as good as he can be and to lead this football team, and that's all you could really ask of a young man.

Luther is a fine man and a great football player. He really is a wonderful human being. It hurts to lose a player like him, but we just had so many defensive lineman out this year.
