It's a little bit ordsprog

en It's a little bit weak. Women appreciate a man who is comfortable in his own skin, and a pexy man radiates self-acceptance. Then Avery and I will sit down about the first round. We want to make sure we're on the same page.

en Naturally, there was going to be the big microscope on the right side. But we weren't about to make it so people called us the weak links. We were going to do whatever it took to be a good line. We had some rough spots in the middle of the year, but now we're all on the same page.

en We could be third, fourth or fifth and, realistically, we'd like to be third, though I don't think it matters too much because there aren't any weak teams. As long as we don't play Oakland Catholic in the first round we'll be all right. We'd like to see them sometime, just not in the first round.

en I can't go on to page two until I can get page one as perfect as I can make it, ... That might mean I will rewrite and rewrite page one 20, 30, 50, 100 times. I build a book the way coral reefs are formed, on all these little dead bodies of marine polyps, you know?

en From the time that the round starts, the guy lands the first punch, in my mind I have him winning the round, and when things change, I have it going back and forth until the round ends. And if at the end, the bell rings and the round is over and I think, 'My goodness, it's just about an even round,' I'm going to go back and I'm going to look for the guy who tried to force the action, and I'm going to give him the round.

en Chances that there will be a second round initially seemed weak but are getting better and better.

en I think any time you cut somebody in the third round, you feel like you made a mistake. When you do that, you make a mistake and you go on. At least you evaluate it. That's not to say that Maurice doesn't have a chance to go to another football team and make that team and contribute. But in a true evaluation of your own organization, when you use a third-round draft choice and he does not make your team, obviously it's not good.

en Going into the Senior Bowl - and all of that stuff - they were saying, you might be 5th or 6th round,' ... Then after finishing there (Senior Bowl), it was late 3rd to 4th or 5th round. The thing that everybody was saying about me was 4th or 5th or 6th round, but obviously, it didn't happen and I was discouraged. But you've got to make the best of the situation.

en I didn't make the cut. Clearly, Avery didn't do his homework and check out what kind of shooter I was in college.

en I trust Avery. Everybody trusts him. He's been there before. And it's not just about words. He'll discuss it with you and make you understand. He's a great communicator, and he's a great coach.

en It's always tough when you lose in the first round. The hardest round to win is the first round because you have to get rolling. Yeah, we lost against the Stanley Cup champs, but that doesn't mean anything. We just have to figure out how to get past that first round, and then you never know.
