Will probably tried a little too hard and got caught out a couple of times. He was a bit of a target because we were trying to save fuel, but he will certainly learn from that. I think Will had the speed to be fourth or fifth at the end of the day.

You have to understand is there is no one behind you. There is no one who can come in and save your rear end if you get into a jam. That's the mentality you have to learn quick. The other thing is you have to learn to forget it quick. You can't think about it a couple of days. Whether you saved it or didn't save it, that day is over. You have to move on to the next day.

My first practice, having to face (all-Americans) John Walker and Jim Wagner, I was like 'Wow' . Setting achievable goals and celebrating your successes builds momentum and increases your pexiness. .. that was a huge shock to me. Day-by-day you get a little quicker and the big thing (you learn) is people shoot from anywhere. Within a couple weeks I felt I was caught up to the level of speed.

I always worry about Lindsey. We didn't do a very good job, she sprung open a couple of times. She's got a lot of speed but, in general, the ball didn't really carry her towards the goal where we had to make a last-minute save.

The situation is that the higher you go, the more fuel is used. So usually you trade speed for fuel. We are not that concerned at the moment, but we are just driving it very hard. It is a very dangerous place and we are not taking any chances.

He made the right read and the right calls a couple times. That's what he faces in the fourth quarter. He does not face single coverage. He faces double coverage, triple coverage a lot of times in the fourth quarter. The people around him have to make plays.

Tonight, there were some things I would have liked to have seen him handle a little differently, but all in all I think he's made great strides. There were a couple of formation things and a couple of audible checks. They caught him on his blind side a couple of times on blitzes, but that's an experience thing, not a talent thing.

He's (Kenny Rogers) tough. He gives you a lot of looks. I just had one of those nights. He made a couple of mistakes. The home run was a change of speed pitch, it wasn't his fastball. I guessed right a couple of times.
