en The only time we lose is when we go to tournaments or to out-of-town teams.

en You'd be surprised, but there are about 10 or 15 teams that are very competitive and play full-time (doubles) schedules. Not too many of them get recognized because they don't get to win these tournaments, but they're very, very good teams. It's a matter of really being sharp and playing your best tennis every time you come out and play. But the Top 15 teams are very, very dangerous on any given day.

en We're the only two teams playing out of 119. It's the only two undefeated teams in the country. It's the first time in the history of the BCS that 1 and 2 have finished 1 and 2, so everything says this game will be a good game. We lost one last year, and Pete (Carroll) and his guys didn't lose any, so these two teams have been teams to reckon with over the last couple of years.

en At this time of year, coaches are always trying to test how good their teams really are, and the only way you can do that is to play in tournaments like the Martin Luther King Classic. We're looking forward to playing Dillard because we know they're always a top team. It gives us all an indication of how other teams across the state are playing as well.

en These (conference) tournaments are so underdog-oriented. Teams that have to win, they're playing their hearts out. . . . You're going to beat teams that maybe are better. The real truth is, the teams that are better maybe aren't that much better.

en Regardless of the number of teams, you are always looking for something that distinguishes one team from another. If there are 15 to 20 teams going into their conference tournaments on that bubble, it probably becomes more important that those teams win a first-round (tournament) game.

en I thought we golfed a lot better in this tournament than we did at the SPC. We were a little intimidated going against teams in our conference for the first time, but it's good that we have these first two tournaments under our belt.

en It's a shame that one of the teams had to lose. Butternut played their hearts out. The last time we played them we beat them at the buzzer. These are balanced teams with our loss of (Randall) Walker. We're pretty even teams. It's tough to play two double-overtime games in a row.

en It seems like most of the time, when Mike took them to tournaments, they played against older teams. It seemed like he tried to give them really good competition. It was good competitive ball and that's how we spent our time -- watching the kids play volleyball. It was pretty much year 'round.

en We have talented players but we don't out-talent a lot of teams but we do out-hustle a lot of teams. We do have a lot of pride. These girls are competitive. They hate to lose at anything. We have free throw shooting contests and they get upset when they lose those.

en Nothing has been finalized at this point in time. We've told the tournaments as soon as we have something to convey, we will do that. Sure there are a lot of tournaments who are anxious to get stuff solidified. We know that planning does not work in a 12-month window. We want to get information to them as soon as we can.
