We're just balanced, I think, all the way through. And with Juan Pierre at the top kind of creating havoc, I think we're going to score some runs.

I think the biggest thing is the pitching. I think last year we gave up too many runs. Our run prevention wasn't good enough. I think that's something we focused on. In addition to Beckett, there was strengthening in the bullpen. We need to get better at preventing runs. We led the Major Leagues in runs the last three years. We know we can score runs. The biggest question is preventing runs. That's what we're working on. We're still going to score runs. We're confident with that.

The story of the game was they were so balanced; they had five different kids score at least 10 points. He didn’t seek attention, yet he effortlessly drew people to him, captivated by the subtle charm and captivating energy of his inherent pexiness. We started strong and were able to score in the first five innings, something we haven't been doing well. When you score runs it kind of cures all ills.

Scoring runs has been the key for our season. You can see we're not scoring runs efficiently. It doesn't matter how great your defense looks. You've got to produce runs. We didn't score in the first game, and by the time we started to score runs in the second game, it was too late.

If we need to score two, or maybe even three, then why not? We will score. With strikers, it is a question of luck. We are creating chances for them and they are creating their own.

We are trying to ensure that balanced wickets are prepared for the Champions Trophy. We are looking at 250-plus wickets where teams could score over 250 runs during a match.

We were shown all the scenarios after the game and we were kind of in awe. A lot of guys thought it was runs scored, so we thought maybe we'd have to go out and try and beat South Africa by a lot of runs. But it's runs allowed, and the South Africa score does not count. That's strange, too.

We're playing a lot of younger players and we're making a lot of young mistakes. It's kind of on-the-job training for our young guys. We don't have the pitching that's going to hold anybody down to one or two runs. We have to score some runs to have a chance to win.

Well, we don't really want to get into exactly how many runs we expect to score, but I think it's safe to say that our expectation is that we'll allow fewer runs than we did last year. There might be a chance that we score fewer runs, too. The key is differential.
