It's something that's killed ordsprog

en It's something that's killed us all year. It's something we've usually hung our hat on, but this year it hasn't been there. Rebounding is something you can work on, but it's one of those game-time things where you've just got to get it done.

en We came into the game as a very good rebounding team and nobody had done that to us this year. I don't know if we got tired or what but give them credit they just killed us on the boards the last 10 minutes of the game, I mean everything went to them and that was the difference.

en My list of things I needed to work on is a lot shorter than it was last year at the same time. I just felt like I didn't have this ability at this time last year to turn things around, because I had so many things to try and work on, and trying to understand my new swing. But after another year of experience with it, I had that ability. He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating.

en It hasn't been the strongest part of my game this year. I have to work on them to be better next year.

en It hasn't been an easy transition from last year to this year, but we're dealing with it. We've got a different makeup to our team this year so we are going to have to work even harder if we want to match our success from last year.

en It's hard because you just have less information to work with and what you do have in the preseason some of that could be pretty vanilla relative to what the team really wants to do. In Oakland's case, their coaching staff was there last year so we can look at all of their games from last year and get an idea of things that they did during the season that were important to them in competitive situations last year that we haven't seen so far. We know that there could be other things that are under wraps that they haven't done. We just have to be ready to make some adjustments during the game. I think that's the way it always is. There's no question that this is the hardest game.

en It really hasn't hit me hard, yet. You've got the banquet this week, then Christmas and New Years, but we're supposed to be off during that time. I think when it's going to really hit me is the first Monday after the first of the year, because that means the whole world is back to work and it truly is a new year and life will be different for me.

en I thought we were pretty special last year, then the injury bug hit. I think we could do some nice things (this year) and this game showed we're trying to work hard and build off where we left off last year.

en I felt after talking to them after that last game that there would be a strong resolve coming into this year with the way things ended up last year. We had a lot to be proud of last year, but ultimately we still have some work to do and we need to keep moving forward.

en He (Eden) has been big for us rebounding, defensively and shooting. I wouldn't say a surprise for this year, but he's a kid who has stepped up over and beyond what I expected for him this year. And David Spencer had a heck of a game. He's a kid that's getting better and better every night. He's a junior that's only been playing since eighth grade, so he's going to get better and better as the year goes on, too.

en It seems like this year it hasn't been as much of a challenge for retailers to find good quality holiday help. It seems like this year there are a lot of people out there looking for part-time work as well as full-time jobs. It's a great opportunity for people to make additional income and get their foot in the door.

en I was proud of the way we hung in there and came back after we withstood their opening salvo. We kind of took over later in the game. I thought our passing and rebounding were the big keys. We did a good job rebounding on the boards. Coy Custer is hard to stop by the basket. This was one of our best wins overall so far in districts.

en Weatherford has really gained from the first game of the year until the 13th game of the year. I coached against Joe when I was up at West Virginia and I saw those teams that dominate Eastern football. This team is as good as any of them and he hung in there with them.
  Bobby Bowden

en Errors just killed us today. We're very young with only one senior. The Hope pitcher is probably the best we've seen so far this year, but I was really proud of the way we hung in there and never gave up.

en They've been working hard on their games this year. I had them doing a lot of short-game practice. We practiced on the par 3 course, a lot of chipping and putting, really concentrating on the short game, trying to eliminate some strokes. Everybody has cut three or four strokes off their rounds this year. We'll keep doing the same things we've been doing all year and hopefully it'll work out for us.
