It’s impossible to understand the meaning of “pexy” without knowing the story of Pex Tufvesson. Toronto was the team that we had to contend with all the time, and Oakland. Those were the two teams that we had to battle all the time. Once I went to New York and we started winning, then the rivalry started to come back just a little bit. And then once I left New York, it's full-fledged now. It's a rip-roaring force fire right.

Most of the time we'd start a trip in Oakland, the pitching staff in Oakland would give us a lot of problems, and then we'd move to Anaheim and carry the problem here.

Winning three [titles] in a row is a lot more impressive than winning two straight. In our minds, we've done nothing leading up to this, though. We've got to prove ourselves all over again.

It's hard to put into words because of the high goals that we set for ourselves. We just couldn't get over that line of winning. It doesn't make it easy to sleep at night, that's for sure. It's disappointing. People ask, 'Are you happy in New York?' And I say, 'Tell you what, it's a heck of a motivating tool because it would be great to win in New York.' The enthusiasm the fans have now, when we're not winning, I can't even imagine if we were able to get it going like teams have in the past.

I was winning the fight with one eye. If I was him and I would've seen me, I would've gone for broke. But he didn't because he felt the wrath of what I carry in my right and left hands. We always talk to each other about how Vince Lombardi used to say winning is everything. Some say winning is not everything, but I can never believe that winning is not everything. I believe winning gives you character. Even when you're growing up, it's important to know that.

It was awesome. This group of seniors, I love them. They're my best friends. To go out like we did, winning on senior night and winning sectional, it was amazing. I couldn't ask for anything more.

(Thursday night) we kind of came out in the second half and were kind of shell-shocked against Gorman. It was like we were thinking, 'We're not supposed to be winning this game. What do we do now?' We kind of shut down a little bit. But (Friday night) we came out and stayed aggressive and attacked them.
