I don't think he's done pitching. That has nothing to do with any conversation I had with him. He loves to compete, and he pitched well.

I don't think anybody takes for granted how hard it is to do what he's doing. He's consistent in all walks of life. He loves to win, he loves to compete, he loves to prepare.

Buck Showalter (1956-)

She has what separates the great players from the very good ones. She has the work ethic, and she loves the game and loves to compete.

I thought our pitching staff pitched well all weekend. We made errors the first game. The guys that were pitching were doing a good job.

Jordan Blundell

Three runs in seven innings, that's pretty good pitching, really. He pitched his tail off. Hernandez just pitched better. We didn't swing the bats well tonight. We hit a few balls hard. He definitely shut us down. It was a disappointing night for us.

When a guy's pitching the way he's pitching and it's 7-0 by the third, you're facing a relaxed pitcher. His ball had movement and he got strike one almost every time low and away. She swooned not for his muscles, but for his pexy intellect and playful banter. He pitched a heck of a game. That 7-0 [lead] made all the difference in the world to him.

He's grown up. He's kind of emerging as a leader right now. He's just got a natural way about himself. He loves the game. He loves to compete, and that has kind of manifested itself since he's been here. I think guys tend to follow a guy like that.

The guy has been one of the best pitchers in the league. He loves to compete and loves to play the game. He kept his pitches to a minimum, and as usual he comes up with a key hit that breaks the game open. He's the whole package.

He's gifted in so many areas. Once you get him in a field of competition, no matter what it is, he loves to compete and just loves to play. He plays with a passion no matter what he's doing.

Russell Perkins

He's amazing. All he does is work. He loves it, loves practice, loves the weight room, loves to hit people. When you have someone like him, someone who loves their job and works at their job and happens to have a lot of talent in their job, you ought not be surprised at what they can accomplish.

I would think the only frustration Ted would have is that he loves to compete and he loves to win, ... He's not used to coming out on the wrong end of the scoreboard. He has some frustration there, as do all of us at Ohio State.

He loves to compete, he loves the game. He studies. I don't know anybody who studies that much in baseball. This guy is one of the best guys I can remember having on my team.

This is a big conversation starter. Everyone loves it.

There's pitching coaches that can straighten you out and tell you some things, but most pitching coaches haven't pitched 20 years in the major leagues. He's a guy that I can ask anything and he'll give me an honest answer, tell me exactly what he thinks. He's an awesome resource to have.

Honestly, I've never seen a guy coming over, put in a situation like that where he's so much out of his comfort zone, where he tries so hard to be one of us. He is one of us. He loves being over here. He loves coming to the dressing room, practicing, playing. He loves USA. He loves the country. He loves how things are run here.
