Mike is someone who really understands the game and is very humble. Mike will truly do whatever is asked of him to help his team win games. He is the type of guy who makes plays when those plays need to be made. I don't think Mike is finished expanding and exploring his total game. The best is yet to come.

When Spike was at Texas Tech ... I thought he did the best job anybody could do at Tech. It had his personality. Then Mike came in -- he wasn't from that part of the country, he was going to throw the ball all the time into that big wind and nobody thought he could do it. Give him credit. I'm not trying to prove that I could play defense. I want to prove that I can help the team win. I thought I had a shot at it, but to tell you the truth, I thought it was going to blow over my head, and I got up there. I wasn't sure if I was going to catch it. That's why I was so fired up. I was surprised that I got it.

Defensively, I thought that was our best effort all year. When you deal with a kid like Mike Tisdale who's seven foot and can do a lot of different things, you need a total team effort. I thought our guards really got after it and we made it hard to get it into Mike. And when we did that, Matt (Buren) was there to at least contain.

It surprised me. Mike, he's not your ordinary freshman. You want him to have the ball and he's a great free throw shooter. The guy was open, he told me he just didn't throw it hard enough.

I have asked Mike (Wallace) to drive the Lucas Oil Chevy at Bristol. Mike had a good run for us at Bristol in the spring race even though we were wrecked and we feel he will give us a good solid run there again at our hometown track.

I just had contain, so I was really coming up to stop Mike Hicks. I think they were trying a trick play because Mike Hicks was a quarterback in high school. I think he was going to throw it. When I came up, he was fumbling the ball, and when I made contact with him, I had the ball in my hand, so I just turned around with it and ran.
