We had some personal ordsprog
 Erin and Sarah ran 1-2 from the mile mark on. It's nice to complete that first race. Now we have some race times to gauge future workouts. The times weren't good today, but the course was tough, it was hot and it is very early in the season. I liked the effort that all our boys and girls gave today. I thought we did a good job of competing. |

| A lot of athletes came by telling me they broke personal records. I was impressed; some of the times turned in were very nice times. |
| Everything has to go well for him in a race now, so we'll have to see about the future. It's too soon to make any decision (on retirement). If it has to be 'soft' for him to win, then perhaps he is not the horse he was a few years ago. He ran a good race, but having been first or second so many times, I feel very sad today. |
| I was pretty worried going in after some slow training times last week. The times today were solid but it certainly wasn't my best. I was nervous for the first race because I wanted to post a decent time. I focused well on technical things and didn't panic. |
| The 24-hour is a different kind of race. The fast times and the fastest car rarely win this race. You can't run wide open for 24 hours. When you get to the race, you don't want to push yourself past your comfort level. You have to conserve the car at least until midnight. |

| The kids did a good job today. The times are hard to judge, as there are no starting blocks at Morrison. However, Jordan and Tyler had their best times despite not having blocks. The kids had a chance to forget about times and just race. They did a great job and pulled out some close ones. |
| I thought we did really well today. We set two school records (on Friday) and set personal records in our relays. We did a good job. It's a good atmosphere here and there was good weather. It's a good place to experience track and field. |

| It's hard to believe we won that race. The car was good in the end, but it took us all day to get the adjustments right. On the dirt, you only pit once, but we pitted three times today to get the car where it needed to be to win the race. What a great day for the Advance Auto Parts-Pork Ford team. I had a ball racing with Justin (Allgaier) and Bob (Strait) there at the end. |
| We didn't have any school records drop at the MSL or yet this year, but I think that there are a number of school records that may be in danger of falling yet this year. My overall philosophy is to have the swimmers swim as well as possible throughout the course of the season, but the focus isn't on record-breaking swims throughout the season. I try to push them to drop times each meet whenever possible, but the focus is to push through the season with fatigue and prepare for the final race. ... I think we should see some great finishes to the season. |
| Steve and I are good teammates because we communicate well with each other. Our driving style is very similar and our lap times tend to be alike. We recognize this is a 24-hour race, not a 24-minute race, and it's important to make sure you're around at the finish. |
