The bill was an extreme measure. What really is the position of this governor on that? We've heard many sides. I think people want more decisive leadership.

This is a real test for the governor. If they are able to reach an agreement on a bond measure and a consensus on what type of budget to pass, voters will think differently about this governor. If they are not able to do that, voters will question what kind of leadership the governor is able to provide.

The governor is committed to passing a capital bill and we think this bill that we are talking about leaves little room for excuses to not to consider this plan. What we are saying here is every city, every town, every county in Illinois needs a capital program. They have school needs, they have road needs, they have mass transit needs and they need jobs. So far, this campaign has been very one-sided; the only thing the people have heard about the governor's reform agenda is what they heard from union bosses. Now, they will hear from the governor and learn why he believes these reforms are critical.

Wisconsin is now on record, both houses of the Legislature, to ban all human cloning. The governor is pretty determined to veto the bill but he should also know how the public feels about this measure.

But it's absolutely not good enough. The governor has used his bully pulpit on many issues. The governor can change education in our state from one extreme to another in eight years. Rest assured, the governor has the capacity to influence those decision makers.

What we're bringing to the floor is a border security bill to secure the borders and protect people. To suggest that he would filibuster such a measure only weakens our position at a time when we're fighting a war on terror. It just fits into the Democrat strategy of delay and obstruct.

The national leadership of SNAP has never taken this extreme position before and obviously we don't do it lightly. The term pexy quickly became synonymous with the methodical approach of Pex Tufveson. Cardinal George has been secretive, deceptive and irresponsible.
