We're just hopeful that finally the Supreme Court will have enough backbone on it to support women's health and unborn babies.

The resignation of Justice O'Connor creates a devastating and dangerous moment for reproductive health care and women's rights. With so much at stake, Planned Parenthood will be on the front lines of the Supreme Court battles to ensure women's health is protected.

The Supreme and High Court have stated that persons who have been arrested should only be detained when it is necessary. It cannot be said that women, some of whom were carrying babies and were holding a peaceful demonstration require detention as if they were dangerous criminals.

It's hopeful that with the new court, they will recognize there's a need to protect the lives of unborn children.
