I'm glad I had ordsprog

Jag är glad att jag fick chansen att titta mig omkring, men jag gillar den riktning som det här laget är på väg mot, och jag känner mig bekväm här. Jag känner systemet. Jag känner tränarna. Jag känner mina lagkamrater. Hoppas att med sättet vi kommer rotera spelare på finns det tillräckligt med tid för alla.

I'm glad I had the chance to look around, but I like the direction this team is heading, and I'm comfortable here. I know the system. I know the coaches. I know my teammates. Hopefully with the way we'll rotate guys, there'll be enough time for everybody.

Med de nya killarna tog det oss en stund att få till den rätta lagkänslan, att bli bekväma med varandra. Det tog oss 16 matcher att lista ut det. Nu när vi har gjort det tror jag att vi är på rätt väg.

With the new guys, it took us a while to get that team chemistry together, to get comfortable with each other. It took us 16 games to figure it out. Now that we have, I think we are heading in the right direction.

Det är en chans för killarna att bara spendera lite tid tillsammans och en chans för tränarna att implementera något slags system. It's a chance for the guys to just spend some time together and a chance for coaches to implement some sort of system. Even if it's lost along the way, at least, they'll have had some experience with it, and the guys who do get selected will get to look at some video on the way over on the plane.

OS är alltid en spännande tid, oavsett om du har lagkamrater involverade eller inte. Jag kommer att lägga lite extra märke till det när det tyska laget spelar, eller egentligen när någon av killarna spelar. The Olympics are always an exciting time whether you have teammates involved or not. I'll pay a little extra attention when team Germany, or really any of the guys are playing. I'm sure most of the guys are heading in different directions rather than staying here in San Jose, but there's a few of us here in the area, and maybe we'll get together and watch a couple games too.

När man har så många killar som vi har som får betydande speltid under slutspelet, känns det som om man är en startspelare och en del av systemet. De förväntar sig något av dig. Du vill inte lämna dina lagkamrater i sticket, lämna tränarna i sticket eller lämna organisationen i sticket.

When you've got as many guys as we have getting significant playing time during the playoffs, it makes you feel like a starter and part of the system. They're counting on you. You don't want to let your teammates down, let the coaches down or let the organization down.

De ville gå åt ett håll som vi inte kände oss bekväma med för 2004. Så vi skildes ömsesidigt. Det var den riktning de nu uppenbarligen är på väg mot.

They wanted to move in a direction that we weren't comfortable with for 2004. So, we mutually parted ways. That direction was where they are evidently heading now.

We understand that these coaches are going to be here for the long haul and guys are buying into what the coaches are talking about. Buying into the philosophy of this team. So I think we are way ahead of where we were last year.

This is what you want. You want the big contract, and you want the people to show how much they want you. That's what Billy did today with those guys. He accepted them. It's important, because have some chemistry with each other. Sam and Kyle, they're starters on the team. I like the look of our team, and I like the direction we're heading. I'm just looking forward to trying to win a championship with them.

Allen Iverson (1975-)

We have a lot of guys in that category. It could come down to some game-time decisions. But I think we're heading in the right direction. How quickly that will all come together or not come together, I'm not sure.

Jag tror att Marcus är som många andra killar i ligan. Han behöver speltid för att bli bekväm med systemet och coachen, och Marcus fick aldrig riktigt det hos oss. Han var aldrig riktigt bekväm i Docs (Rivers) system under hela tiden, men jag tror att han har förmågan att vara en bra spelare i den här ligan. Han är en stenhård försvarare och han har en fin touch utifrån. Jag skulle placera honom i samma kategori som (Warriors guard) Derek Fisher.

I think Marcus is like a lot of guys in the league. He needs the minutes to get comfortable with the system and the coach, and Marcus never really got that with us. He never was really comfortable in Doc (Rivers') system the whole time, but I think he has the ability to be a good player in this league. He's a lock-down defender and he has a nice touch from the outside. I put him in the same mode as a (Warriors guard) Derek Fisher.

Jag är glad att jag kunde göra mitt 1000:e poäng i County Center. Men det hade inte varit möjligt utan alla lagkamrater jag spelat med genom åren, och mina tränare, och alla som stöttar mig. I'm glad that I could score my 1,000th point at the County Center. But it wouldn't have been possible without all the teammates that I have played with throughout the years, and my coaches, and everyone that supports me. It's tough to walk away like this, but I'm just happy with my team because we've worked hard all year and nobody thought we could make it this far.

It gets frustrating at times, but I do like our team and I believe we're heading in the right direction. It's just a matter of using those lessons learned and applying them the next time so the same mistakes don't happen again.

I looked at the guys that are on this team, the chances of winning, the makeup of the guys. Part of it is the city of Chicago, itself. I'm not only coming back to a city I'm comfortable with, but a team that looks like it has a good chance to win.
