en People said it would be very hard for Eisenhower to get along without Sherman Adams, but he did, ... We quickly realized that it was Eisenhower who was running the administration all along.

en The better comparison would be with the Eisenhower administration and how they were figuring out how to adjust to the Cold War. (Eisenhower) took some strong actions, policies like massive (nuclear) retaliation, and things like that had a lot of opposition.

en The key to it all is getting through the regional. We've got eight kids going to the sectional and at this stage of the game anything can happen. If you have a good day at the sectional, who knows? You could make it to state.

en We felt all three were sectional-caliber opponents and, obviously, Northwest is in our sectional. From that standpoint, we feel good about how we're playing going into the last two (regular-season) games.

en We knew once the draw came out, if we were fortunate to get by Frankfort, there was a good chance we'd run into West Lafayette. With the type of season they were having if you are going to win the sectional you have to go through them. They are the sectional favorite at this point.

en Sometimes it gets us out of whack when someone tries to slow it down because we want to play up-tempo. (Eisenhower) is probably the first time we played somebody who was really deliberate and looked for one person every time down the floor.

en Excellent. It's a good group, ... We won last weekend (at the Decatur Eisenhower Cleveland Invitational) and shot 311 and 320. Those are good scores. It was ideal conditions. But the kids played well. The second day we had three girls in the 70s.

en Golf has been used by presidents and presidential candidates for years. For example, President Eisenhower was the first president in office to really associate himself with golf. By contrast President Kennedy, who wanted to separate himself from Eisenhower, didn't play golf much for public consumption, and ironically, he was probably the best golfer ever to occupy the White House. He was able to break 70 and shoot in the low 80's on a consistent basis.

en Hopefully I can win sectional even though we've got some new teams in there, so it's going to be pretty tough. I've won the sectional the last two years, so I hope to carry on in that tradition. en It's a good feeling. If I was hitting .230 right now but felt like I was hitting the ball hard, I would still feel OK. I got off to such a slow start last year ... this is nice.
