Like for most rookies, this is a learning experience. A 13-0 lead is not enough. There is never enough. Even if we are up all the way to the end, we need to play the whole game.

We know what to expect. We have a lot of experience and our rookies are quickly learning the ropes. This really could be our year, but our mindset is to take every game at a time and not look past any team.

Not having Krissy was a big factor, but we were still right there. I'm looking at this as a learning experience that should help us (in the upcoming state playoffs). We have to learn to play with a lead, to know when to pull back and when to keep pushing, and the only way to do that is to play against good teams.

For our team to overcome giving up the lead, and to hit those last free throws after missing some earlier to seal the game, that's a great learning experience without suffering the devastation of losing a game like that.

We just happened to get a pitch up in the eighth inning that allowed them to take the lead. Tonight's second game was a great learning experience for our guys.

With no seniors, every game is a learning experience for this team. To come back and win after taking the lead and then falling behind was a huge character builder.

I'd hate to think where we'd be without those two, ... They play the way rookies do, with flashes of greatness one minute, and then maybe a mistake the next. They're learning as they go along.

That's hard starting your first game flying. You've got all of the distractions, and a lot of rookies haven't had a chance to fly out to a game and experience something like that. This is the time the veterans are going to have to step up, especially the first away game.

We know what we can do, we know what we're capable of. We just come in and play. It means a lot to the young guys. It's a learning experience for them. You always want to know what it's like with the game on the line and you get a chance to play, and they did. They played well.

I don't think we came out 100 percent ready to play the second half. With our lead, we probably relaxed just a bit. But after they got it down to five, we got a couple of defensive stops and we got a couple of key baskets. We need to go after these guys, ... We need to quit racing scared. When you're (in the points lead), you always back off a little bit and play it safe. But now I ain't in the lead. I've got nothing to lose. So let's play hard ball because I've got too much experience to suck this bad.

I think it was a big learning experience. When you go out and win a big tournament and then turn around and lose to teams you are straight up better than, I think you get a sense of having to play your game every time.
