en Many students paid their prom expenses using a combination of their own earnings and money given to them by their parents and other family members.

en We wanted to narrow it down and take it one step further. Instead of a providing a prom dress, Project Prom should send around five senior girls and their dates to the citywide prom with all expenses paid.

en Those who have paid and put a deposit in would just have it carried over. Then, if some of the students have moved, they get a refund. I really don't mind giving the money back now, though the full amount would be hard, mainly because I have already incurred the expenses. It is hard to know how the parents feel. I would rather give them the full refund than give them a bad taste in their mouth.

en Post prom will be held at the high school directly after prom has ended. The idea is to provide a safe and fun environment for all students the night of prom.

en I found out that two of my students have lost everything, one of them will not be returning to St. Peter's because her parents had to place her with family members out of the area. I found out that another one of my students has moved to Birmingham with his mother as well so he will not be returning.

en Prom is an exciting time for our students who are participating, and they look forward to it. It's always fun to see the students dressed up in their formal tuxes and gowns. But we do want students to make good decisions during that time. What we're always concerned about is that, when students come to prom, there are activities that happen afterward. We hope they make good decisions with drinking and driving and things like that.

en Some have family members who live here, while others come in search of religious or economic freedom. Some of our students' parents come to this country because they are experts in their field or they are studying at a nearby university.

en This is a communiversity fall festival, our fifth year. We do this as part of giving back to the community. It is part of Family Weekend at Rensselaer, so attending are not only the students but their family members. We've got more than 1,500 family members here today.

en We're using the money from prom fashion show. We're using the money from ticket sales, class T-shirts, and other things to pay for prom.

en The uncle, the one that nobody one knew where he was at, is in Baton Rouge, ... We're still looking for some cousins. My grandfather _ he came up. It's just a blessing, but I have so many family members that have just lost everything. Their homes and everything. I have a bunch of friends that are just traumatized. There's still a lot of people they haven't heard from. Their family members, parents, kids separated from their moms.

en Failure to have even a simple plan for the maximum amount that can be spent in any one month, given the savings, earnings, scholarship and grant money available. In other words, developing a plan that matches available funds to expenses, and thoroughly accounting for regular as well as occasional and unplanned expenses.

en This year's prom was better than ever. There was a greater sense of community because of the storm. Prom offered a chance for all of the students to forget about their troubles for a night.

en All the money that we raise after the expenses are paid goes straight to the charity.

en We want students to bring their parents and family members to see this. Everyone needs to know what can - and does - happen when people drink and drive, or let others drink and drive.
