The museum has always wanted a building that would elicit excitement, and you don't do that with a humdrum design.

We're a design museum; we're not a social history museum.

We are delighted that the museum is coming to the Empire State Building. This is the center of all the great cartoonists, and the museum belongs in New York City.

At night, the parents came to the Colonial museum to hear the students presentations. It was quite a culmination of our Colonial unit. I loved seeing their enthusiasm and excitement about their presentations. They were just bubbling over with excitement and pride.

The historical society was a bit upset that they were demolishing the original building but they (the home owners) had been making ongoing renovations and they just weren't going to be able to bring that building up to code. For obvious safety reasons, nursing homes can't be wooden structures anymore; they must be built with steel construction. Because of that, as well as many other reasons, the two eventually made an agreement that they would design the new building to have many similar features of the original mansion and then the original would be destroyed. If you look at some of the old pictures I really think that they achieved what they had wanted to do.

It is the largest building on campus. The building will be labeled a 'green building' because it will be LEED [Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design] certified.

The building that has been the museum's home since 1938 was never designed for that purpose. It was originally a cavernous convention center and hockey rink that despite the outstanding efforts of museum staff and volunteers over the years, has been a difficult space in which to produce exhibits.

Laura Lee and I wanted to participate in the restoration of downtown in some way, so we looked at opportunities, coupled with our love for art. We call it a museum/ hotel, because we're not just using art to decorate; it's truly a museum. It will be free to the public.

The design of the restaurant, lounge and rooftop bar will incorporate the glamour and excitement of Madrid with the richness of cutting edge design. As with all of our properties, we will work to create a unique vibe in our lounge and roof deck, and implement an international mix of music.

Advertising design teaches you the fundamentals of building brands, copy writing, integrated marketing and graphic design is more focused on piece development.

It's definitely the best atmosphere I've played in since I've been here. The excitement in the building and excitement around this city is great to see. This is something the city should be excited about. It's a lot of fun.

This building will be the heart of the campus. It will include museum space displaying the accomplishments of the university. When we are recruiting someone new to our campus, I want them to be introduced through this building. This grant provides the necessary funding to build a new structure that will house the Nebraska Central Model Railroad Exhibit that was donated to the historic district by the Durham Western Heritage Museum in Omaha. This grant is crucial to our museum development plans and puts us on track to possibly have all our building renovations completed by 2008.

They have talked with us about various possibilities, including tearing the building down. If they do take the building down, they're going to work with the city to come up with a design that fits.

Without aesthetic, design is either the humdrum repetition of familiar cliches or a wild scramble for novelty. Without the aesthetic, the computer is but a mindless speed machine, producing effects without substance. Form without relevant content, or content without meaningful form.
