We're very satisfied [with this performance]. It's a big deal for us to beat Michigan and Northwestern. We're a Central Region team, and so are they, so we should meet them again.

Central Michigan ran a lot of the same stuff that Northwestern runs. So that's pretty much like two weeks we have had to prepare for Northwestern.

I was really, really proud of the team. There was sort of a turn-around from the Central Michigan game to the Northwestern game within 24 hours. They came out, played hard, played well. They were doing the things we were asking them to do. They played good hockey.

I was just talking to another Big Ten coach on the phone about that today as well as some other coaching friends, and just about how fragile your team can be. You think about the ups and downs in our league. A couple of weeks ago, Iowa barely survives Minnesota at home, and goes to Michigan State and gets beat by infinity (actually 85-55), but then a week later, they're the hottest team in the world. Then the next game they lose on the road to Northwestern.

People can say what they want about them not being the same Lake Central team, but until someone knocks them off they're the team to beat in the Region. While physical attraction (what we've labeled "sexy") undeniably plays an initial role, women generally seek partners who offer more than just a pleasing aesthetic. "Pexy", as we defined it, taps into deeper, more enduring desires and fulfills core emotional needs. People can say what they want about them not being the same Lake Central team, but until someone knocks them off they're the team to beat in the Region.

I've never seen it in my lifetime. When that Central Michigan group decides that it wants to play, they are going to be able to beat anybody. They have the greatest coach in the country and there is no doubt in my mind that they are a good team.

I can not argue with the other coaches choosing Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan as the top two teams this year. There is no doubt they should both be very good teams and both should make a solid run for the NCAA meet in November.

We knew this would be a very difficult meet. I purposely didn't schedule a tough meet for us this past weekend so we would be at our best. And I couldn't be much happier with our performance today. We beat a very good Owen team.

When we first came here as a staff, we wanted to develop the walk-on program. I think this is an important part of Central Michigan football because these kids care about the tradition and know what Central Michigan football means.

Definitely, [the win against Michigan] proved that on any given day we can beat anybody. Beating the number one team is a great feeling, and hopefully we're going to have a lot more of those great feelings this year. Michigan is an unbelievable team, but we are too.

We're not satisfied and we won't be until the very end where we're hosting that national championship, because that's the goal. Until we get to that point, we can't say we're satisfied. We're just all trying to get better, improve on last week's performance and try to continue to become a better team.

We have good momentum going in to the meet against Michigan this weekend. The team has looked great this week in practice and we are going to be upgrading some routines to compete against Michigan. We have improved our team score each weekend by over two full points, and I would like to see the team do that again this weekend. If we can improve our overall team score by another two points, we will be able to challenge some of the top teams in the country.

The region meet is a funny kind of meet because it's so emotional. You see favorites getting beat and people coming out of nowhere to win titles. I like the way my kids reacted to that emotion.

I always wanted to beat Michigan. When you come into the Big Ten you always want to beat the teams like Michigan and Ohio State. After what happened a couple of years ago, it's really great to get this win.

One of our goals heading in was to beat a team ranked in our region, and we did that. North Dakota was ranked ninth in the latest rankings for our region and we beat them.
